Chanbara AdultChanbara for adults is geared for the daring person who wants to learn that extra something which is both exciting and exotic. Now, who wouldn’t want to do that!

The paths to this knowledge are the following: i.e. Chanbara (combative) program and Goshindo (traditional) program. Both are designed to grab your interest and titillate your intelligence using specially designed programs geared for the individual in the art, sport and tradition of the sword.

These goshindo and chanbara programs offer the experienced traditionalist as well as the novice combatant a challenging and refreshing approach to the centuries old way of the sword.

Here are two examples of Full-Time Programs for adult classes – traditional and combative. Create your individual school curriculum supplied through our books, manuals, DVD’s and media offered to you by Samurai Sports.

These are the prescribed Chanbara “combative” and Goshindo “traditional” programs. NOTE: Goshnido classes require more training time for the instructor to effectively teach a traditional sword program. Traditional and combative certification is available upon competition of the programs by Samurai Sports.

Chanbara Combative Program

Designed for the adult to absorb and understand the multi-faceted usage of the combative short and long sword, double swords, staff, knife and nunchaku. Training adults at this level requires a general understanding of weaponry and combative weapons sparring. Certification gives one that confidence to instruct adults.

Goshindo Traditional Program

Designed for the individual who wants to do that extra traditional/ classic course encompassing the three separate divisions of goshindo (iaido, tameshigiri, kenjutsu). Training at this level requires the pre-requisite of the understanding of sword patterns and forms using soft padded, wood, bamboo, and steel swords.
