This test-cutting course is designed for those who have accomplished Goshindo Iaido and wish to advance to the next level of expertise. This course offers instruction on how to safely and correctly wield a razor sharp lethal sword as used in test cutting. You will learn test cutting patterns using various sword sizes, lengths and weights which will upon execution ……give an awesome experience.
You will execute the various diagonal, horizontal and vertical cuts, including the famous ichi to roku-dan-giri and happo-giri cutting series with a Japanese steel (shinken) sword. You will also learn how to roll, tie and cure tatami mats for use in test cutting using either short (wakizashi), long (katana) or military swords (gunto).
